“Wood Ducks” is No. 10 in the 1946 Sports Afield Magazine series called, “Know Your Ducks,“ with paintings by Angus H. Shortt. He was an artist-Technician for Ducks Unlimited of Canada. His name and date appears on the bottom right part of the drawing. It would look great framed!
The drawing is NOT a reproduction but part of a series from an vintage “Sports Afield,” magazine.
A BONUS is an article on the opposite side of the same page that features information about that bred of duck with names, descriptions, migrations, courtship and nesting, food, weight of pintails, and distribution with a map. Text is by B.W. Cartwright, Chief Naturalist of Ducks Unlimited of Canada. Please see the scans.
The drawing is on an 8x11 magazine page and is in good to very good condition with aging. The left edge has a slight uneven cut.
Natalie’s Neat Nook is offering several other duck magazine paintings from this series. Check them out and remember that all drawings and ads are shipped FREE after the first one.
Orders are carefully packed in an acid-free polypropylene sleeve with backing board and mailed in an extra-rigid fiberboard Photo/Document Mailer for maximum shipping protection.
Vintage magazine drawings and advertisements are becoming more and more collectible for their nostalgia look and unique eye-appeal. They also are suitable for framing and are becoming more scarce as the supply of vintage paper products continues to decrease.
