“What’s this about Spring tune-up, Mac,” is the theme of this 1939 original vintage advertisement by the Ethyl Gasoline Corporation. Featured in the ad is a neat vintage photo of a couple talking to a man about a car tune-up at a gas or service station. There is also a promo in the upper right corner for “Tune-Up Time,” featuring Walter O’Keefe and the Andre Kostelanetz Orchestra with Kay Thompson and the Rhythm Singers on CBS. Please see the scan.
The ad is 10x14 and in good to very good condition with some wear and aging. The ad is the inside cover of a vintage magazine and heavier than a normal magazine page. It is an original vintage product and not a reproduction.
Vintage advertisements and pictures are becoming more and more collectible for their nostalgic look and eye appeal. They are also suitable for framing and are becoming scarcer as the supply of vintage paper products continue to decrease.
